If We Work Together, Imagine What We Can Do!

English is Our Language

June 4th, 2012

One of the galvanizing resources of a nation is a common language in this nation. That language is English. When the people of the land do not share a common language. There is not a forged bond of unity. There is a struggle of separatism. There’s a creation of division of misunderstanding and distrust. It has been well-documented that the success of the early immigrants from Western Europe succeeded in the United States only as they sought to assimilate and to learn English. Many parents forbid their native language from being spoken in their homes so that their children would learn English and feel the need to be an American, this was their deepest and most fun during that their children would have a better life than they did that their children would grow up to be Americans and be a part of the great dream that is the United States of America.

Today, however, many people do not wish to assimilate into the United States. They merely wish to work here, they simply wish to create pockets of their own country. Essentially a subculture, a sub country within a country. Allowing this action to occur, creates  divisions within our country, that should not and cannot be allowed to exist. The failure to learn English places those coming to this country at a significant disadvantage.they are handicapped educationally, and in employment opportunities. What parent would willfully handicapped their own child for the sake of maintenance of a language that cannot help them to assimilate and to prosper in the United States?

When we attempt this effort at multi-culturalism, causing street signs roadsigns business signs to be in a plethora of languages, increase costs are borne both upon business and government. The simple costs of running an election is significantly increased by the need to provide voting manuals, pamphlets and ballots in a plethora of languages. Given that in the world, there are literally thousands of languages,do we provide governmental forms in every possible language available on the planet Earth? Or do we rightfully discern and decide upon one language to be the language of the United States of America? For many, this decision is ordered and reached, the language of the United States is English. Those who wish to succeed upon her shores can and must be required to speak English. It makes no sense for those who speak English to be required to press one for English, to learn other languages to communicate with citizens within their own country. We are seeing the results of this multi-language, multi-cultural idealism in our northern neighbor of Canada. Now, many generations after they adopted this multi-language, multicultural identity.

They find themselves in the battle of separatism, the French wish to be French Canadians were the English speaking Canadians wish to be Canadians. Now there’s a great crisis thrust upon Canada, one that could have been simply solved by declaring a national language long ago. for the United States of America has long been declared that English would be the official language of the United States, unfortunately. It was not done so through the adoption of laws and policy but rather through common sense of the citizens of the country. Unfortunately, our country, our sovereignty and our heritage is under attack, those that see America as a shining city on a hill, those that see and think that English is the best language for Americans to speak, need to contact their politicians, they need to contact their congressmen and senators, they need to write to the president. They need to encourage them to adopt English, formally and legally as the official language of the United States of America. They need to further make English the only language upon which government forms, ballots and other aspects of instruction are provided.  Every person that calls himself a patriot needs to be exercised in seeing that their local council meetings are in English that their local government seeks only English as the language for street signs road signs and other mediums of communication within the citizenship of this country.

Without English as a core unifying language. Our country will continue down the multi-culturalism, hyphenated American, continuing to fracture into smaller and smaller subgroups, until the America of today can no longer even be recognized.

The Loss of Virtue

June 4th, 2012

When the nation becomes un-virtuous it loses its moral compass, it loses its sense of right and wrong. Things that used to be viewed clearly as wrong now become shades of gray. Why is that? People that would not think of stealing from a store, see absolutely nothing wrong with stealing things from a hotel maid service cart such as water, sodas, candies or other beverages, which would be replaced into the now provided in room refrigerators and services lockers.  Is it only because the risk of being caught is greatly reduced?  One must ask whether or what is the role of one’s conscience in these actions. would one assume that a person would do these things has no conscience.  In essence is a sociopath?

Three generations ago, virtue didn’t have to be taught in school, it was understood what ethical behavior was.  Honestly, integrity were hallmarks of good citizenship, traits held by many, now it seems they are traits held by very very few, and generally disdained in society.

One in that one must ask why that is?  I believe it is because fundamentally, we have stopped teaching the concept of virtue in the home, in the churches, in the schools.  We have stopped requiring and expecting people to be honest.  We have stopped requiring and expecting people to be virtuous.  There is a line in scripture that says let virtue garnished thy thoughts unceasingly.  What does it mean to have virtuous thoughts? Doesn’t it only mean we avoid the morass of sexual perversion and lust?  It means that we think good thoughts, that we think honorable thoughts, that we think of ourselves as our best self.  That we think of others more than we think of ourselves.  That we embrace the tenents of the Golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

However, today we have a complete generation of children growing up with the belief that cheating is only wrong if you get caught, that stealing is only wrong if you get caught. That sexual immorality is only wrong, if you get caught or if you contract a disease or pregnancy results.  The net effect of this moral and spiritual loss of virtue brings about abortion, heartache and distrust of those within our society, who we share this great country with.

The subject of virtue was so important to the founding fathers that one of them,  Thomas Jefferson actually wrote a book about it called the Book of Virtues.  Benjamin Franklin said the nation that was not virtuous,  didn’t deserve to be free.

We need to see that virtue is taught in our homes and our schools, our churches and is expected by those we meet and deal with in society. We should not let others off for the sake of avoiding confrontation.  Virtue will only become the expected norm, when it’s actually expected and what it sought for and demanded by all mankind from their friends and neighbors, politicians, and family members.  Virtue is one of the seven cornerstones of a free society, we will discuss the the other pillars at another time, suffice it to say the role of a patriot is to instill virtue,  In those around them.  They must teach the concept of virtue to their families, to their children, to their friends, to their neighbors, such that all mankind living in the United States of America, returned to a belief of being virtuous, that virtue is at trait kept in practice near to their hearts.  Patriots understand that it was the great virtues of the founding fathers that resulted in this great land within which we live.  Patriots understand that the loss of virtue will surely result in the loss of freedom in the downfall of yet another great nation.  We must not let that happen.

The Problems With Welfare

June 4th, 2012

Welfare is a cancer which eats upon a nation. Welfare depletes resources both human and economic.  Welfare robs self-esteem and depletes the most valuable resource.   A nation that has the confidence and self-esteem of its people. When people get trapped in generational welfare, this is where their parents were welfare recipients and or grandparents were welfare recipients.  It produces a sense of poverty and hopelessness, it produces a sense of entitlement that they are somehow entitled to receive this for some past injustice occurring generations ago.  This is the Devils beat, this robs Americans from their rightful place as productive citizens in our society.  This causes them to believe that they are somehow entitled to receive the same standard of living that others toil and labor to earn for themselves and their families.

When we indulge this fantasy.  We somehow think that the government, the nebulous undefined government can and should take care of all humans.  Clearly, we understand that this only happens when all of the income of those that work is taken to support those that don’t. One of the great lessons we learn in civilization is that man will be lazy if given the opportunity to do so, if he need not toil for his bread he will not,  the Bible teaches a lesson that was given to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.  Adam was told that by the sweat of his brow.  He should eat bread, what that implies was that man would work to have food. He would work for the things that would sustain his life and that of his family.

When we create a situation where a standard of living is equal to or greater than those that work in the workplace obtain, this breeds jealousy and contempt.  This breeds anger in the persons that work. They see no reason for hard labor, while others clearly get a standard of living provided to them with no tangible effort on their part.

Welfare reform is one of the single biggest challenges to the safety and security of the United States.  When welfare dollars are not so easily obtained others from other nations will be less inclined to try to gain access to our country than they are presently.  In many nations, poverty is so rampant and in of such great degree that it becomes worth any risk to get to America because we in their eyes provide a standard of living.  Even at the welfare level, it is much, much greater than they have known and we provide it freely to all people, citizen and non-citizen alike.  This is simply unfair to American workers who for far too long have struggled to achieve a measure of independence and a measure of reward for the efforts of their labor.

Real welfare reform occurs when men and women are required to provide services to the country for the benefits received.  This starts to move them from a period of welfare to a period of workfare. All-Americans can and should work to provide for this for sustaining of their lives and families.  In an age of technology.  There are limitless opportunities for the homebound and handicapped and the unemployed to to labor on behalf of the United States, there citizenship.  Indeed, their self-esteem should mandate to them that they would work rather than sit idle.  Our country has great needs needs that could be fulfilled by those currently on the welfare rolls.

Shortly after the Great Depression, President Roosevelt created the American work projects.  This gave jobs to many of the unemployed working on roads, highways, bridges and other public works projects to help society and the greater civilization as a whole to improve.  This gave those unemployed, a job, a hope, a way to feel that they were paying their way.  They were earning their keep.  They were contributing to the great fabric of America.  This is what we need to do today.  People need to earn their keep.  This is important, not solely for economic reason and the balance of the welfare deficit.  This is important in the human deficit, the deficit of self-esteem.  Protracted unemployment robs the human spirit of self-reliance, esteem, and the belief that they can be more than they presently are.

Patriots young and old understand clearly that all Americans must work or America soon will no longer be free.  It is imperative that all Americans support welfare reform or realistically the abolishment of welfare and in its place, workfare.  This does two things, this gives people with low skills the opportunity to have skills, to develop skills, and to grow in self-esteem and hope for a better day for them and their families.  This is the dream, that is America.
